Course Description

  • The Master of Cybersecurity (MCybersec) gives students the skills to manage and administer cybersecurity and blockchain and prepares them for careers as security systems analysts, systems designers, data security specialists or security software engineers or administrators
  • The course is structured in three parts:
    • Foundations for advanced security studies
    • Core master's study
    • Advanced practice.
  • Successful completion of this course may provide a pathway to a graduate research degree
  • As a cybersecurity professional, students' specialised skills will always be in high demand, as well as highly rewarded
  • Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that students will be able to critically assess existing systems using the theories, techniques, and software tools that are available in the field of cybersecurity and blockchain ​

Academic Requirements
  • Entry level 1: 96 points to complete Duration: 2 years full-time, 4 years part-time
    An Australian bachelor degree, not necessarily in IT, with at least a 60% average, or equivalent qualification approved by the faculty
  • Entry level 2: 72 points to complete Duration: 1.5 year full-time, 3 years part-time
    An Australian bachelor degree in a cognate discipline including computing, computer science, software engineering, computer systems, electrical, electronic or communication engineering with at least a 60% average, or equivalent qualification approved by the faculty ​
