Course Description

  • The UNSW Master of Education is a one-year full-time degree (or part-time equivalent) designed to enhance students' career options and professional advancement opportunities

  • Graduates are equipped to progress into specialist fields of education or leadership roles within their existing fields, or into research degrees such as the PhD or EdD

  • Students will have the opportunity to progress into specialist fields of education and have a positive impact on future generations

  • The program is suitable for teachers, trainers in industry and commerce, adult educators and other professionals, but does not provide a qualification in pre-service education

  • The Master of Education allows students to update their skills and knowledge in one of six specialisations:

  • Educational Studies

  • Curriculum and Assessment

  • Special Education

  • Gifted Education

  • Educational Psychology

  • TESOL

  • A recognised bachelor degree and a postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g. Graduate Diploma of Education or Master of Teaching), OR

  • A four-year pre-service teacher education qualification, including professional experience, equivalent to the qualifications required for Graduate Teacher status in NSW
