<ul><li>Studying earth sciences at Dalhousie starts with learning the basics. Students will explore how geological structures were formed and how changes are happening deep within the geosphere- the solid part of the Earth</li><li>In weekly labs, students will experience geological research and learn how to identify different types of rock by examining samples under high-powered microscopes</li><li>In addition to the geosciences, students will also learn about the atmosphere, hydrosphere, oceans, and the biosphere.</li><li>Fieldwork is also an important part of Dalhousie’s earth sciences program. Students will get a chance to explore the fascinating and diverse geology of Nova Scotia</li><li>Students could take part in the Advanced Field School and study abroad in countries such as Italy, Chile or England. The upper-level Petroleum Field Program course might take students to Trinidad to study active petroleum systems
