Course Description

  • This concentration is designed to provide students with an understanding of the key concepts and processes involved in starting and managing new ventures
  • It combines rigour with relevance, as all students will complete a major field project, thus providing an opportunity to apply the concepts acquired in the classroom
  • The concentration is multidisciplinary and integrative, as it includes courses from across areas in the Faculty
  • Upon completing the concentration, students will understand how to conceptualize, develop, and manage successful new ventures
  • The concentration is appropriate for students interested in a wide variety of new ventures, from for-profit private companies to social enterprises and cooperatives ​

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements

Applicants will be considered for admission on Class X Board exams (if written), school transcripts for Grade 10, 11 and mid-year 12 or, if already written, on the final Class XII Certificate
The minimum overall average grade and prerequisite subject requirements are normally between 75% to 85% or the equivalent of a B grade
Prerequisite: English, Pre-calculus

Additional Requirements
  • Unofficial transcripts (Copy of high school transcript, including interim/mid-year/first semester results for the final year)
  • Copy of:
    • Class 10 (or equivalent) board exam and school results OR
    • Class 11 (or equivalent) and school results OR
    • Class 12 (or equivalent) Certificate in lieu of school results
  • Applicants may be waived from the English Language Requirements if they have lived in a country or attended high school and/or university, for at least four consecutive years, where English is the acknowledged primary language ​
