Course Description

• The MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice requires students to engage with current concerns confronting the criminal justice system from both a criminological and legal standpoint

• This course has been designed to provide students with the conceptual tools necessary to engage with such issues, and also a broad range of cognitive, analytical, and general transferable skills such as judging and evaluating evidence, interpreting data, generating and synthesizing information, and formulating reasoned arguments

• The degree combines social science and legal education and provides a challenging program enhanced by research, scholarship, and knowledge exchange to prepare students for postgraduate study and research, as well as for the job

• This program will require students to complete four core modules, two optional courses, and a dissertation

• There are lectures across the course, and students participate in two-hour seminar sessions that may involve group discussions and some group presentations
