Course Description

• The multidisciplinary MA in Atlantic History and Politics looks at the ties and conflicts between the peoples of the Atlantic basin, which includes the Americas, Africa, and Europe
• The course spans a wide period of time, from the beginnings of European empires through the age of revolutions and the more recent "American century."
• The curriculum situates the evolution of contemporary nation-states, particularly the United States, within the context of the larger interchange of ideas, goods, and power throughout the Atlantic globe
• The MA begins with a month of 9-credit hour coursework at Oxford University
• Students will reside and eat at Corpus Christi College's graduate housing, which was built in 1517
