Course Description

• The department grants M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in American politics, comparative politics, international relations, methodology, and public policy
  
• Each year, the department admits a small number of highly eligible individuals to its graduate program
  
• The applicant's academic and non-academic experience, the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), the department's ability to provide faculty guidance and courses in the applicant's areas of interest, and the university's commitment to equal educational opportunity and diversity are all taken into account
  
• In addition, the candidate must fulfill UNM's admissions requirements
  
• The Department encourages submissions from the Minority Identification program of the American Political Science Association and the Project 1000 initiative for Latino/Latina students
