Overview

The University of Queensland (UQ) is a research-based public university in Brisbane, Australia. It is one of the six sandstone universities founded in 1909 by the Queensland parliament. It ranks second according to the Australian Research Council in their latest research assessment. The main St. Lucia campus is located in Brisbane. There are six faculties:

  • Business, Economics and Law  
  • Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology
  • Health and Behavioral Sciences
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Medicine
  • Science

The university has eight globally recognized research institutes:
Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN)
