The University of Western Australia (UWA) is a research-based public university in Western Australia. It is Australia's sixth-oldest university, which began in 1911. It has three campuses. The main Crawley campus comprises six main libraries. Reid Library is the biggest library in Australia. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, specialization and doctoral-level programs. It has nine faculties:

UWA is a research-intensive institution. It is in the Group of Eight. It has more than 75 research and training centres and receives about 80% of all training funding. UWA has many prominent alumni including:

  • Fiona Wood (Australian of the Year, 2005)
  • Rod Eddington (Ex-CEO of Ansett Airlines)
  • Stephen Smith (Ex-Labor Federal Minister)
