Course Description
- Brandon University’s Faculty of Health Studies offers a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Nursing (BN) degree
- This professional program will prepare graduates to work in a variety of settings with individuals, families, and communities to promote, maintain, and strengthen health
- The curriculum consists of courses such as Nursing Foundations, Human Growth & Development, Nutrition, Social Research Methods, Health Assessment, Gender and Lifespan Health, and Community Health
- After graduation, students of this program will be eligible to write the qualifying examinations for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- Graduate registered nurses may assume various roles including direct care provider to individuals and families with acute or long term illnesses, working in the educational environment and teaching nursing students theory and clinical based practice, and assuming responsibility for leading other members of the health care team and for coordinating services

Academic Requirements
- International Baccalaureate:
- An overall score of 24 points
- The IB Diploma must contain at least three Higher Level courses, with the remaining courses being at either the Higher Level or the Standard Level
- A minimum score of 4 is required on each Higher Level IB course to be considered for possible transfer of credit
- GCE:
- Must have passes in five different subjects of which at least two subjects must be passed at the Advanced level;
OR - Passes in four different subjects of which at least three subjects must be passed at the Advanced level
- Must have passes in five different subjects of which at least two subjects must be passed at the Advanced level;
- Required subjects: Math 40S (Pre Calculus or Applied) and Biology 40S
