Established more than five decades ago in 1966, Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology is Ontario’s first community and oldest publicly funded college. Today, Centennial College is a degree- and diploma-granting college in Toronto. It also partners with countries like India, China, South Korea, and Brazil to provide education. This college has gained recognition as a culturally diverse post-secondary institution. The students at this institute can join almost 100 ethnocultural groups and speak 80 languages on-campus.

Centennial College currently houses 25,000 students including 845 apprenticeship students. Over 13,000 international students contribute to cultural diversity. Students can choose from 100 full-time and 160 part-time programs, and thousands of part-time courses that lead to degrees in an array of disciplines. Eight of the following schools manage these programs and courses:

The college has campuses equipped with all facilities at five locations. These campuses include the Ashtonbee, Downsview, Morningside, Progress, and Story Arts. In addition, students can gain access to the Eglington and Pickering learning sites. Students at this college can receive housing facilities at two residences. Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology prioritizes a holistic education for its students. For this purpose, the school has many centers and institutes under it. In 2016, Centennial College ranked as one of Canada's Top 10 research colleges. The institute’s Wearable, Interactive, and Mobile Technologies Access Centre in Healthcare acts as the location for all of its main research facilities. Its establishment occurred in 2015 through a $1.75 million federal grant. Research facilities are also available at its aerospace innovation hub. This hub is currently under construction in west-end Toronto at the former de Havilland plant.
