Overview

Kwantlen Polytechnic University started its journey as Canada's only polytechnic university in 1981. Commonly known as KPU, this university is a public undergraduate university in British Columbia, Canada. It celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2021. Over 200,000 students have graduated from this university in these forty years. Currently, it has around 20,000 students and a large part of them are international. Now, 60,000+ registered alumni around the world call KPU their alma mater. Over 1,400 faculty and staff members are responsible for making the university what it is today.

The university is set across 5 campuses in Surrey, Richmond, Langley, Cloverdale, and Civic Plaza. The main campus is the one in Surrey. All five campuses are part of a wider community and are easily accessible. Accessibility services, academic advising, bookstores, and libraries are available on-campus. Students can also access a learning centre and counselling services. Multifaith centres, prayer rooms, and health and dental benefits are some other perks of the campuses. Kwantlen Polytechnic University also emphasizes sports and recreation and thus, has a gym on its main campus. The campuses also house high-tech labs, studios, classrooms, and facilities as well as fitness centres and workout spaces.
KPU offers 140 bachelor's, certificate, associate, diploma, apprenticeship, and citation programs. The following faculties overlook these programs:

Some scholarships cater to Indigenous and Aboriginal students.70+ researchers are working on active sponsored research projects at KPU. 21 of the ongoing projects are externally funded.
