Course Description
- The field of engineering is generally associated with finding solutions for real-world problems in an analytical fashion using math, science, problem-solving, and communication skills as well as an understanding of the business, legal, and societal issues that impact the development of the technological products and processes required to meet the demands of a global economy
- As electrical engineers, students will work on the development and manufacturing of electrical and electronics equipment
- Students will learn the fundamentals of physical science, as well as more practical areas in the design and operation of industrial control systems, communication systems, electronic circuits, and the generation and distribution of electrical power
- Nearly all industries use electricity and electrical devices, making skilled professionals in this field highly desirable all over the world for positions such as Electrical Engineer, Test Engineer, Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Circuit Designer, Communications Engineer, Electrical Systems Engineer, and Embedded Systems Engineering
- The Electrical Engineering program is accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) with several entry points into the Bachelor of Engineering programs to accommodate students at any stage of their education

Entry Requirements
Academic Requirements
- Applicants must have completed the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, with marks equivalent to 70% from the Canadian board
- Subjects required: English, Chemistry, Math with a minimum grade of 60% (Canadian Equivalent), Physics
- Calculus and Vectors (i.e. MCV4U in Ontario) is strongly recommended
- Students who have completed Ontario's Grade 12 U Calculus & Vectors, with a minimum mark of 60%, will be exempted from MATH 1071 - Vectors and Matrices
- A senior-level Math, Science, or Technological Education course is recommended
