The Memorial University of Newfoundland is a public university stationed in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, a Canadian province. Also known as Memorial University, Memorial, or MUN, this university began its operations in 1925. This institution is a living memorial to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who died in the First World War. MUN is the only university in Newfoundland and Labrador and the largest university in Atlantic Canada.

Memorial hosts more than 19,000 students yearly and over 20% of them come from 118 countries outside of Canada. Students can choose from 100 certificate, diploma, undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs in different fields. The following schools and faculties manage these programs:

MUN awards 750 scholarships annually, spending $1.5 million in entrance scholarships and $9.5 million in graduate fellowships and scholarships.

Memorial University operates across four campuses based in St. John's, Corner Brook, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay of Canada and Harlow of the United Kingdom. The institute also oversees two institutes that serve as satellite campuses as well. Students can choose to live on-campus in one of three residence halls: Paton College, Macpherson College, and Cabot Court in Burton's Pond Apartments. Each of these halls is within walking distance of classes, labs, dining spaces, the library, and the fitness complex.

The Memorial University of Newfoundland boasts a huge reputation in leadership in teaching, research, and public engagement. It is also the alma mater of 100,000 globally notable alumni. Currently, over 1,300 faculty members and 2,400 staff members are responsible for the education of the diverse student body at Memorial. This school affiliates with nationally and internationally recognized individuals including:

Memorial is one of the top 20 research universities in Canada. This university has more than 30 research centers and receives more than $130 million in research funding annually. 1,500 graduate fellowships and 854 Ph.D. students have called this institute their home. MUN has also hosted over 50 Rhodes Scholars. With entrepreneurship being a pivotal part of the Memorial experience, students can access the following entrepreneurship centers:
