Founded in 1954, the Université de Sherbrooke is a public French-language university in Quebec, Canada. Also going by UdeS, this university has the distinction of being the only French-language university in the area. It has associations with the Canadian Association of Research Libraries, International Association of Universities, Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate, Universities Canada, Quebec Student Sports Federation, and the Canadian Bureau for International Education. The university ranks 9th in sustainable development having achieved the international Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System certification at the Platinum level.

UdeS hosts nearly 32,000 students currently, over 1,600 of whom are international students representing 88 countries. Over 82% of the student body constitutes students from outside Sherbrooke. These students can choose from 132 undergraduate and 216 graduate courses in three cycles. The courses at this university fall under the academic structure of the following eight faculties:

Université de Sherbrooke operates across a total of three campuses including the main campus in Sherbrooke, the Longueuil campus, and the Health campus.
