Course Description

•  Chemical engineering is a broad-based and a versatile discipline ideally suited to address the major global challenges of today in energy, water and the environment
• The undergraduate program at Western combines strong fundamentals in natural sciences, mathematics, process engineering design and economics
• The objective of the program is to combine and integrate the fundamental principles of chemical and biochemical engineering to design commercial processes and plants that make consumer products that are both economical and environmentally friendly
• Among the distinguishing features of the program is the emphasis on prevention of pollution at the source before by integrating innovative design principles of physical, chemical and biological processes
• The capstone fourth-year design course involves students finding solutions to industrial problems in close cooperation with industry ​
