Course Description
- Students will discover how a crime scene is investigated and how to collect and analyse crime scene evidence
- Through this program, students will learn about ethical computer hacking, DNA analysis and much more
- There is a large practical and project component to the program and students will learn skills such as project management, time management, decision making, and laboratory practical skills
- On completion, graduates will have a qualification that will provide opportunities for employment in a range of areas and will facilitate career advancement to managerial positions
- This degree is accredited by The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences, an internationally recognised professional body with members in over 60 countries. It is one of only three forensic courses in the Institutes of Technology sector to have this full professional accreditation

Academic Requirements
- The general minimum Leaving Certificate entry requirement is a Grade O6/H7 or better in six Leaving Certificate subjects including English/Irish and Mathematics, two of which must be passed in higher level papers at Grade H5 or higher
- A Level (+ GCSE O level) - Cambridge International
Applicants are scored on the basis of a maximum of 4 different subject results at A and/or AS level. For scoring purposes, the following combination of A Levels and AS Levels are permitted:- The best 4 A level results in a single sitting
- The best 3 A level results in a single sitting, plus the best AS level result from the previous or the same sitting
- The best 2 A level subject results in a single sitting, plus the best 2 results at AS level from the previous or the same sitting
- The best 1 A level subject result in a single sitting, plus the best 3 results at AS level from the previous or the same sitting
- The best 4 AS level subject results in a single sitting
