Overview

Located in Eastern England, Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is a well-known public institution. Established in 1858, it used to be the Cambridge School of Art. It became Anglia Polytechnic University in 1992 and was renamed after the founder, John Ruskin in 2005.
The university has four main campuses. These are in Cambridge, Chelmsford, London, and Petersborough. The Chelmsford Campus is the main one to operate academic units. Each campus has different facilities including workshops, libraries, and art studios. The university had a £115m campus investment over five years. There is a plan for a £200m investment over the next ten years.
There are four academic faculties. These focus on Arts, Business, Health, and Engineering. Popular courses include Health, Psychology, Business, Arts, and Social Sciences. The courses have an 89.9% satisfaction rate from students.
ARU has around 40,000 students worldwide, with more than 20,000 on campus. Among them, over 9,500 are international in number. They make up 39% of the student body. ARU scored 8.3 out of 10 for student satisfaction.
Three halls and one village are available for student accommodation. The halls are in the Cambridge Campus with the village being in Chelmsford. The village offers 511 rooms in 110 flats. Most of the rooms are en-suite in every housing option. Facilities include Wi-Fi, 24/7 security, bike storage, parking, cleaning, and laundry. The booking fee is £300. Private housing options are available as well.
ARU offers several funding options for students. International students receive many scholarships. These depend on academic merit and the country of origin. External bursaries are available as well. The varsity website lists all relevant information.
Students must prove their English qualifications before attending this university. ARU accepts various test scores in this regard. The most preferred tests are IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE. Other tests include CAE, CPE, ISE, and ESOL. Country-specific information is available on the varsity website.
