Course Description

• This course enables students to make sense of a range of important real-world issues affecting everyday lives and improve students decision-making skills in ways that are distinctive to the disciplines of accounting and finance

• Taught by experienced staff from the profession, this degree looks at not only the theories and practices of accounting and finance but also their context in a business setting and significance within contemporary society

• Students will develop the expertise they need to make an effective contribution to decision-making and problem solving, as well as the self-confidence and interpersonal skills needed to operate comfortably and effectively in the workplace

• Students will engage in team-based exercises that help them to understand the real issues facing organisations and how financial and accounting ideas can play a part in problem solving

• As Accounting and Finance students, they will have access to Nottingham’s unique Business Lab facility. With 12 double-screen workstations, the room gives students a simulated experience of working in the fast-moving world of shares trading
