Known as the first Fairtrade university in the world, Oxford Brookes University is globally recognized. Established in 1865, it received university status in 1992. It is one of the top 50 universities under 50 years old according to QS World University Rankings 2021.
The university has three campuses in Oxford and one in the Swindon area. Four faculties offer more than 300 courses. Its top courses range across Business, Engineering, Education, Languages, Law, and Sciences.
Over 16,900 students attend this college per year. 17% of overseas students make up the student body. It has 83% full-time and 17% part-time students as well.
There are 11 university-managed halls available for all students. It also has five partnered housing options. Most of the rooms are en-suite. Family flats and studio rooms are available as well. The contract period ranges from 38 weeks to 50 weeks. Booking fees range from £200 - £250.
Several scholarships are available for international students. The Brookes Bursary is worth around £3000 per year. Each faculty and school also offers several scholarships. It partners with several institutions and receives funding from them. Oxford Brookes has £5m in funding from Arcadia to work on the world's endangered wooden buildings. It has £2m in funding for eye genetic research as well.
Oxford Brookes has an inclusive learning policy. 11 National Teaching fellows are among its academic staff. Students get support and engagement from the Brooks Community.
