Overview

The University of Bristol ranks as one of the top 10 universities in the UK. Before earning its Royal Charter in 1909, it was University College, Bristol. Founded in 1876, the college was operational for 33 years before becoming the university.
It has two campuses in the Bristol area. The main one is the Clifton campus, where most of the courses are taught. This institution has six academic faculties. They offer 316 undergraduate and 234 postgraduate courses.
The university hosts more than 27,000 students with over 3,000 students from overseas. It guarantees housing to all new full-time students of any program. 27 residences are available for undergraduate students. Postgraduate students receive 10 housing options. The Accommodation Office offers various kinds of rooms including single and shared ones.
The university accepts IELTS and TOEFL iBT results as proof of English skills. For IELTS, 6.5 with 6.0 in all items are necessary. The TOEFL score must be a minimum of 90 with at least 20 in all components. The results are valid up to two years after the test date.
The institution offers several bursaries and scholarships to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. International students receive benefits from the International Foundation of the university. An investment of £2m is available on university scholarships.
With 40 fellows of the Royal Society and 13 of the British Academy, this university leads an outstanding research program. Among over 165,000 alumni, nine are Nobel Prize winners. This university has many facilities that ensure the comfort of the students. The rapid growth of this institution makes it one of the popular universities in the UK.

Documents

​For entry requirements, the university accepts both A levels and International Baccalaureate for international students. The requirements differ sometimes, based on different subjects and countries.
The accepted English proficiency tests include IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, TOEFL iBT (Home Edition), Pearson PTE, Cambridge CAE, Cambridge CPE, Trinity Integrated Skills in English (ISE) Level IV, Trinity Integrated Skills in English (ISE) Level III, NCUK EAP, and Pearson Versant. Language requirements also vary in the case of postgraduate students.​
