The University of Chester is the fifth-oldest educational institution in the UK. Established in 1839, it is the first teacher's training college in the UK. It received university status in 2005.
This university has five campus sites and seven faculties. These faculties include subjects relating to Arts and Humanities, Business, Education and Child Services, Health and Social Care, Medicine and Life Sciences, Science and Engineering, and Social Sciences. The university offers around 400 courses across these programs. It has over 19,000 students and around 2,000 staff members. More than 3,000 overseas students attend Chester from 130 countries.
