Overview

The University of Dundee is a well-known institution in Scotland. Established in 1881 as University College, it received the Royal Charter in 1967. It has three campuses across the beautiful North Sea Coastal city of Dundee.
Ten academic schools offer more than 480 courses. The schools have different education centers. The School of Social Sciences has two, and the Schools of Humanities and Engineering have one each.
The college hosts more than 16,000 students every year. Over 12,000 students are undergraduates. Around 3,500 overseas students make up 22% of the student body. The college has 78.3% undergraduate student satisfaction (National Student Survey NSS 2021). For international students, the percentage is 89.1 (International Student Barometer 2019).
Eight public halls with over 1,500 bed spaces are available for all students. All the halls are self-catered. Single en-suite rooms come with all-inclusive rent bills. 24/7 internet and laundry service are available. Students can opt for private housing options as well.
This institution offers 12 undergraduate and 27 postgraduate scholarships. External funding is available as well. The varsity website lists several global bursaries for overseas students.
The university accepts various English test scores. Standard tests include IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, ISE, and Cambridge. Subject-specific test scores are available on the website.
The college ranks 4th in Scotland and 23rd in the UK in 2021 (The Times & The Sunday Times Good University Guide). The Complete University Guide 2022 places it 28th in the UK. It is the first in Scotland and 14th in the UK for graduate employability (The Graduate Outcomes Survey 2020).
There are 62 research centers and units in this university. It ranks 48th in the UK for research (Scimago Institutions Rankings 2021). This college has a library which remains open even after midnight. On exam days, it stays open 24/7. The Students' Association DUSA also supports students with housing, student media, and other issues. All these features make the University of Dundee an esteemed institution worldwide.
