Since the 60s, the University of Essex continues to gain global recognition. Established in 1963, it started its academic journey the following year. It earned the Royal Charter in 1965.
The university has three campuses, in Wivenhoe Park, Southend-on-Sea, and Loughton. The Colchester Campus is the main one among them. The college also maintains 19 domestic and international partnerships.
Over 17,700 students attend this university every year. International students from 140 countries make up one-third of the student body.
There are three faculties with 21 academic schools and departments. These offer over 850 courses. The faculties include subjects in Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science and Health. Three institutes are also under the institute’s management.
