The University of Glasgow is one of the oldest institutions in the world. It is the fourth oldest in the English-speaking world. Established in 1451 in Scotland, it consists of three campuses, four colleges, and 20 schools. The main campus, Gilmorehill, is on the west end of the city.
The university offers 112 undergraduate and 269 postgraduate courses. 15% of over 29,000 students come from overseas. It has more than 8,000 employees. Around 3,400 are research and academic staff.
The university offers six self-catered and one catered hall for undergraduate students. Four halls are available for postgraduate students. All students of the Dumfries campus receive three self-catered halls. Students can consult MyGlasgow Accommodation Services to get proper housing.
The university accepts many tests for English skills. They include IELTS, LanguageCert International ESOL, PTE Academic, ISE, and GESE. International students need to fulfill the listed requirements. There are also several scholarships available for postgraduate students.
The university works on leading research projects and earns £179m in funding per year. It is the alma mater of over 219,000 alumni. The history of this university makes it renowned all over the world.
