Course Description

  • One of Kent’s unique programs, the MA in International Social Policy employs a policy analytic approach to provide students with an advanced understanding of current debates, theories, and concepts relevant to international social policy
  • Students learn about the common features of social policy arrangements internationally and the variety and differences that characterize welfare across the countries and regions of the world through this course
  • The curriculum offers several compulsory modules such as Critical Social Research, Design of Social Research, Comparative Social Policy, and the Dissertation
  • Students can choose from a wide variety of optional courses including Health, Medicine and Society, Qualitative Research, Social & Political Movements, Social Change & Political Order, Terrorism and Modern Society, and Theories of Crime
  • This dynamic course is heavily based on the research expertise available at the Kent School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research which relates to countries ranging from China, South Korea, and Singapore in South East Asia to the UK, Germany, and Sweden in Western Europe
