The third largest in the UK, the University of Manchester came into being in 1824. Its name used to be University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. It became a public research university in 2004. It has become successful in the arena of top universities of the entire world in a short period.
It has over 40,485 students and only 2 campuses. This marks the institution as the largest single-site university in the world. Over 10,000 students come from more than 160 countries. Description
  • Both catered halls and self-catered halls are available on campus.
  • Catered halls provide 2 meals per day (breakfast and dinner). Students get meals every day except for vacation and bank holidays. Hostel fee includes the meal cost. These halls have small kitchen facilities as well.
  • Self-catered halls provide kitchens with shared flats or corridors. Other kitchen utilities are also available for the students to cook their meals. Managing cutleries and crockery are students’ own duty.
  • The City campus contains 5 halls, the Fallowfield area has 7 halls, and Victoria Park contains 6 halls in total.
