Overview

The University of Sheffield earned the Royal Charter in 1905 after merging three colleges. It has six faculties, one of them being international. 50 departments offer around 500 courses in total. Out of 30,000 students, over 7,000 come from more than 150 countries worldwide. It employs more than 5,000 staff members.
This university guarantees housing for all international students. The student capacity is around 6,000 in total. Both single and shared rooms are available in the halls. They are located in two residential areas. All utility bills including 24-hours WiFi are inclusive. All the rooms are self-catered.

International students need proof of IELTS scores for English skills among others. Undergraduate students need a minimum score of 6.0. For postgraduate students, it is 6.5. Some courses may require a higher score, specified on the university website.
