• Chemical engineers with biochemical engineering and biotechnology training are critical to the commercialization of new biologically based processes ranging from high-value pharmaceuticals to new food processes
  
• This program specialization provides a solid biology and chemistry fundamental foundation for graduate work in biochemical engineering, as well as a study plan to achieve the goals
  
• CHEN 5800 and Biochemical Engineering Technical Electives are required for students in this specialization
  
• This specialization provides the necessary preparation for students wishing to pursue graduate studies in biomedical engineering or a career in chemical engineering with an emphasis on medical application
